The following are things I found either on purpose or by accident, that you should all get involved with.
I was at dinner at a friend’s house and she had a candle on her counter. I smelled it and immediately had a full scale meltdown. It smelled exactly like Drakkar Noir. If you know, you know. It brought me right back to the days of French kissing at Bar and Bat mitzvahs. It smelled exactly like making out with Heart to Heart DJ’s blasting in the background (a niche New York memory. Please forgive me). They are made by Brooklyn Candle co. Leather Jacket 10/10 recommend.
.
Hormbles Chormbles. The internet is ablaze with this viral candy bar that boasts only 100 calories, 10 grams of protein (god do we friggin love protein these days or what?) and 0 sugar. I hate the taste of fake things, but oh my gd, these were legit. Tastes exactly like the real thing. Almost like a Nestle’s crunch bar. And you can eat them without the guilt! Recommend.
Here’s something I didn’t know: Did you know if you buy something in leather, decide you don’t like the color, you can literally dye it to be a different color? I didn’t.
Recently I bought a pair of Chloe over-the-knee Eve boots. I have really been on an over-the-knee boot kick lately. For some reason I feel they are a full outfit unto themselves. Not to mention, in the winter, they are an extra layer of warmth. Like pant boots. I decided to veer from my black boot ways, and bought a pair of light brown. They were almost a caramel. A beautiful, beautiful color. There was only one catch. I had zero things to wear them with because I don’t dress like a girl boss in an MLM with fall wide brim hats, open cowl neck cardigans and the like. So they just….didn’t fit into my wardrobe. I had spent a lot of money on them, so…I was hate wearing them, obviously. Until…I looked into dying them. I don’t know why because I never even heard of such a thing. Leather Spa, the high end leather repair service in New York City (which can literally fix any shoe or handbag you own to factory settings) offered the service. I spoke to them and they told me it was completely possible to dye them darker. So I bought them in, and asked a lot of questions. I was really worried about ruining a pair of boots I spent so much money on, even if I had nothing to wear them with. Maybe living with hope of finding the perfect outfit to pair them with was better than ruining them? After asking the lovely gentleman behind the counter 100 questions, and him asking me,
“What? you’ve never dyed anything before?”
“No, I had no idea that was even a thing.”
I committed. Oh my gd am I so happy I did. I now have deep chocolate brown over the knee boots that go with almost everything I own. 10/10 recommend.
Cerca Dating app - As someone who had tried them all, I would say that everyone agrees dating apps, in general are tough. I am being generous by saying they’re tough and not terrible. There are so many flaws in the system that put people at a safety risk- because they are meeting complete strangers. You have no background on them, other than their first name and location.
People have tried to solve the problem themselves by setting up Facebook groups where people post pictures of their matches so they can find out if they come with any red flags or if anyone has any tea. I have always said people should come with warning labels.
Cerca has finally solved this problem! Cerca uses your phone book to find your friends’ friends so every profile that appears shows your mutual friends in common both on and off the app. GENIUS! Background check away, ladies and gentleman! Don’t want to embarrass yourself by liking a friends’ friend and they don’t like you back? Have no fear! Your likes are anonymous until they are mutual! Theres also a matchmaker feature that allows people already in relationships to set up their friends. Usually don’t like one half (partner) of your couple friends? You can now make your own! Honestly, I have never heard of such an amazing dating app and I have heard of them all. Download it here!
Expensive flowers- I love bodega flowers, and I am always buying them for our apartment. I also LOVE LOVE lillies. It’s not that those are my favorite flower- I love ranunculus, peonies, snap dragons…so many. But my favorite smelling flower is lillies. When my youngest sister was born, someone sent the most enormous bouquet of them and her entire nursery smelled like lillies for months. I have loved the smell ever since. So whenever I am home, I like to fill my vases with them. Last week, we walked by Plaza Florists (one of the more expensive florists in NYC) and we bought some Lillies. It’s usually 16 dollars for an entire bouquet. Here…they were $17 a stem. Yikes. That isn’t even because of tariffs!!
Seemed outrageous, but we went for it. After all, the world is ending, and with the aforementioned tariffs you can justify paying triple for anything! Anyway, we came home with these jurassic lillies and let me just tell you, not all flowers are created equal. These were something else! Extraordinary. And the entire apartment smells like heaven. My point is, sometimes, not always, more expensive flowers are better. Oh! These are also the flowers involved in a story that paid subscribers will be hearing a story about Thursday!

Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple TV- Not only is this show so good, but John Hamm is amazing in it. I never watched Mad Men, and now I get his appeal. I love the story. I love everything about it. What I don’t like is having to wait every week for a new episode. It feels like the olden days when you had to wait for an episode of 90210 or Melrose Place to come out. I am a creature of TV binging so this has certainty taught me a thing or two about restraint, but get involved. Luckily for you, if you start watching now, there are episodes in the bank.
Dolly Parton T-shirt: this was a random secret Santa gift to myself. I was obviously up late one night, maybe ate a gummy, I can’t quite explain it, but I ordered this t-shirt. When it arrived 3 weeks later it was literally like a secret Santa gift to myself! I didn’t remember ordering it but I’m so glad I did. Dolly forever! They have other great t-shirts on this website. They are thick and stiff like old school champion t-shirts which, in my opinion makes them more appealing. Retro all around. You can buy it here. Not that you want to. I am a little weird like that.
another perfect post. except for the flowers. hate the smell and not coming over until they die. OR we can just light 100 drakkar candles. Obsessed with the dyed boots, the tee and of course, you!
Am I going to want to make out with that candle? Probably.
Re: Friends & Neighbors--I love it. It is like Jon Hamm as a darker, more modern Don Draper. He is so perfect in it, not to mention easy on the eyes.
